My name is Malin Ljungström, I am 23 years old and am originally from Stockholm Sweden.
I started my undergraduate studies within History and Literature at the University of Essex in England. The first two years of my undergraduate I did not know what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I fell into the path of manuscripts by accident when I went to Canada in 2019 for my study abroad. There I took a module for ‘introduction to medieval manuscripts. Since then, I knew I wanted to make a career within transcription and find the history within manuscripts. I found the master of Rare Books & Digital humanities on accident on the internet. When I saw the part of learning to digitalize manuscripts and learn ancient languages, I knew this master was for me. Within a few weeks here I realized I wanted to continue this path of learning everything about manuscripts and how to decipher them and I am already looking forward to doing my Ph.D.
