At the beginning of my words, I can express, that discovering the domain of Rare Books and Digital Humanities has provided me a multidimensional perspective on books, digital materials, and tools. My master journey could only be described as inside an ancient book’s sentences. I have been fortunate to touch precious leaves through the ages, from Antiquity to the Renaissance and beyond…
My time in Besançon was a profound exploration of diverse book perspectives, from historical insights to practical book-making techniques. Each piece of this puzzle contributed to my understanding of texts, ancient alphabets, parchments, and intricate details, igniting a deeper thirst for historical knowledge.
Beyond theoretical and practical teachings, this program elevated my digital skills through Python, Text Recognition Tools, TEI, CSS, and HTML. These skills directly aid my exploration of early Islamic intellectual history and unpublished Arabic manuscripts. Moreover, the program encouraged internships across Europe, fostering connections and multicultural experiences.
Last but not least, the RBDH has brought me together with extraordinary individuals and allowed me to build friendships across continents. The words of Prof. Spagnoli echoed in my mind, reminding me of the fleeting nature of time. Reflecting on the journey, it has been a wonderful experience where knowledge, travel, and friendship intertwine. Our shared motto from ancient Greek lessons, “Μόλων λαβέ” (come and take them), encapsulates our camaraderie. It is an astounding journey to participate in that program. I am grateful to everyone who contributed to this enriching experience.
