Through the Rare Book and Digital Humanities program I was acquainted with the latest research trends in the field, mastered the necessary tools, methods and software, strengthened my knowledge of ancient languages, and learned how to handle manuscripts, autographs and rare books. The course allowed me to take a broader look at the fields of application of digital humanities optics and its use cases. Classes included hands-on work with the valuable volumes in Bibliothèques et archives municipales de Besançon and Centre Diocésain as well as participation in international research initiatives including The Paris Bible Project.
A major gain has been meeting amazing people – professors who are great at their subject and fellow students with different backgrounds and focuses of interest. Now it is up to us to put what we have learned into practice.
