Nearing the end of this Master’s course, I reflect on what has been a rewarding experience. I have learned a lot about European history and French culture, the world of rare books and the field of digital humanities all while appreciating the charm of Besançon. One of the most valuable lessons has been adapting to constant change—whatever its source, be it in technology or elsewhere—and finding resilience amid it all.
This program has examined the physical and digital “face” of books and screens and revealed the layers beyond them, which for me highlighted the importance of the human essence at its core. The journey required hard work, persistence, and stepping outside my comfort zone, but the rewards have been great. Academically, personally, and professionally, I have grown in ways that prepare me for future challenges, and I feel ready to take on whatever comes next.
