There is no real consensus of what Digital Humanities are. From world regions it differs, from countries too and even from people. When I tell friends or people what I study, I always sell the Master’s program by saying : It is social sciences mixed with history with a pinch of digital tools. But when it comes to Digital Humanities, I always struggle. I, most of the time, uses the following answer : Digital Humanities is digital tools applied to Humanities. I believe that the most important part of DH is social sciences, history, languages and letters studies that tries to see how the digital tools changes their field. How the internet culture changed our approach to research. Also, there is a huge emphasis on how not to recreate the stressful environments that are present in corporations, with concepts such as productivism. This should be took in account more seriously. Actually, what the researchers in DH should do in priority is defining the field in a precise way. It doesn’t help having a field so large yet quite niche.
