Where else can you delve into ancient languages and peruse some of the first extant printed books? This master’s unique, diverse range of classes and opportunities for internships drew me in, and after spending three months here in the beautiful old city of Besançon, I can say that franchement, j’aime la Franche-Comté! The city’s beautiful stone buildings, rainy skies, and green hilly vistas are so charming. Although it is a small city, I am amazed by how many concerts, theater productions, and festivals there are!
I came here to gain more knowledge in a specific field of history, but I am sure I will leave here with much more than that. I have already made so many wonderful memories with my fellow classmates from all over the world, and so I can’t wait to discover what else is in store for the rest of my time here in Besançon!
