I am not sure what I will do after I complete the program. There are various avenues for working with books that I would like to explore. I would like to work in a library or museum archive. I find digitalising photographs and records to be very interesting work partly for the history they contain.
If not a library or an archive then I think I would like to work with a book festival. The virus has allowed for more events to occur virtually, allowing for authors to be more accessible to the public. I think the digital humanities aspect of the program has a lot of use for book fairs when creating event catalogs and databases.
Ultimately I would like to use what I have learned in the program to open my own rare book store so that more people may be able to start collecting and preserving rare books. Much of what I have been taught in the programs, in terms of identifying and describing books, is very useful for this endeavour, as well as database and website creation.
