My name is Agnes, and I have graduated with a bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering. I have decided to enroll in this program because some of the French greatest authors, such as Victor Hugo, had been my inspiration since I was at a younger age.
Since France is so well-known for its achievement in ancient arts and literature, I wanted to learn more about them, and Rare Book is a great combination of the two. Through this master, I have learnt to admire books not only by how well they were written by their authors, but also the bindings, illustrations, designs, and what type of paper they’re printed on. It was challenging at first to recognize different types of binding, but my curiosity is growing every day. Books have been my greatest companies, and it was truly an experience to learn how they were originally formed.
Through Digital Humanities, I would hope to look after aspiring history. I was studying old letters and transcribing them to today’s language. Some of these letters were written by Hugo and, also, Gambetta, member of the Government of National Defense, during the Franco-Prussian War.
